FOLLOW ON SCHEME Print E-mail

Once a presentation has been made, the Trustees feel that it is important that each child moving into Year 2 has their own Bible, and also, that each child leaving the school from Year 6 is equipped for life with a complete Bible.

PROVISIONS OF THE FOLLOW-ON SCHEME

If a school which has had a presentation can find a sponsor to support "Bibles for Children" to an amount of £5.50 per child, the charity will be pleased to provide the relevant number of Bibles for all pupils in the new Year 2 and for all pupils in the new Year 6. We often find that local churches, businesses or trusts will help the school financially in this way. As the Bibles retail at £15.99 this gives excellent economic value as well as the educational benefits.

EXAMPLE

A school with a new intake of 30 children, and 32 children in Year 6, would need to support the charity, or find a sponsor to support the charity, to an amount of £341 for all 62 children to receive a Bible – normally "The Children's Bible" for the new intake, and "The Rainbow Good News Bible" for those going on to secondary school.

TO IMPLEMENT

Teachers wishing to take advantage of this scheme should write to Ted Hudson, the Chairman of "Bibles for Children", or the Trustee or Associate with whom the school is corresponding.
